Summary of Job Description:   ASEC is looking for an Operational Weapon Specialist (SME) to provide technical services

  • Develop weapon systems integration certification packages for fleet use.  This includes HW/SW compatibility and systems functional performance validation and verification plans.
  • Participate in analyzing aircraft weapon systems performance and tactics to develop integration and fielding plans.
  • Provide hands-on weapon systems testing and systems performance verification and validation in a lab or ground environment.
  • Review technical documents for accuracy and technical correctness.
  • Participate as required with the various labs to include coordinated testing, integration and evaluation of weapon systems.
  • Additional duties may be assigned at any time.


  • Weapon Systems Operator with significant previous operational experience, minimum of 8 years.
  • Extensive experience in weapon system operations.
  • Experience in Net Enabled Weapon operations.
  • Must be able to coordinate with other DOD agencies to understand the development of DOD weapon systems and their intended Fleet implementation.
  • Must be able to provide recommendations to software developers enabling them to understand Fleet needs and CONOPS in the development of new weapons systems.
  • Must be able to provide recommendations to test teams enabling them to conduct thorough test and evaluation of new weapons systems.
  • Expert operating with a tactical team to accomplish missions. Must be experienced in all facets of weapons systems integration to include Net Enabled Weapon, Link 16, Mission Planning, GPS guidance, crypto modernization, cyber, and maintenance.
  • A BS in Engineering or Computer Science required.

Computer Skills:  Qualified applicant must be proficient in Adobe Systems, SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, Cisco WebEx and Microsoft Office Products. Programming experience in Java, C++, Python or Arduino is a plus.  Employee must be able to adapt to evolving technology.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance Levels:  Must possess a current SECRET Clearance or be eligible to receive TOP SECRET Clearance.
